Ryan Sullivan Named Associate Vice-President (Enrolment Management)

St. Thomas University has named Ryan Sullivan Associate Vice-President (Enrolment Management).

“As an alumnus and a former member of staff, Ryan understands both the distinctiveness of St. Thomas University and the importance of a liberal arts education,” said Dr. Kim Fenwick, Vice-President (Academic and Research). “At the New Brunswick Community College for the past five years, Ryan advanced his experience in enrolment management, particularly in leadership, engagement, and strategic planning.”

Fenwick said that ҹav had developed an integrated approach to enrolment management with the AVPEM responsible for recruiting, admissions, student services, and residence areas. Sullivan’s priorities will be on the strategic and operational plans in recruitment and retention and he will work collaboratively with the Deans, Registrar, Comptroller, Director – Institutional Research, and Director – Marketing.

“I’m thrilled at the opportunity to return to St. Thomas University and be part of a talented team that does such great work on behalf of students,” said Sullivan.

“ҹav offers the quintessential undergraduate experience which is why students from around the world and across Canada choose to come to Fredericton. As an alumnus, with deep family ties to ҹav, I look forward to being part of the team that continues to ensure that the University is recognized nationally and internationally for the high quality liberal arts programming and the important role this plays in preparing our leaders of tomorrow.”

While at ҹav from 2000-2014, Sullivan was an Admissions Counsellor, Director of Student Life, Director of Residence Life and Conference Services, Director of Recruitment, Director of International Recruitment, and Director of International Student Enrolment and Initiatives. At NBCC, he originated the role of Director of International Education and created an international strategy that led to a significant enrolment increase, negotiated international agreements for student exchanges and program delivery, and facilitated many multi-partner projects. He has also played a leading role in the International Association for College Admission Counselling and was recently awarded NBCC’s Excellence in Leadership Award (Management).

He begins his duties on September 2.
